Our Pre-School
Riverside Pre-School Services opened its doors in September 2025, offering high-quality early years education for children aged 9 months to 4 years. We are a warm, nurturing, and inclusive term-time only setting, open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm. Our aim is to provide a safe and engaging space where children can explore, grow, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Conveniently located in Grays, we are well connected to local transport links, including Grays train station and nearby bus routes, making us easily accessible for families in the area. Our setting benefits from a bright, well-resourced learning environment filled with age-appropriate toys, books, creative materials, and imaginative role-play resources. Children are encouraged to learn through play, with a focus on developing key early skills and building their confidence through both structured activities and free play.
One of the highlights of our setting is our dedicated garden, which offers free-flow access throughout the day. Children are free to move between the indoor and outdoor areas as they choose, allowing them to enjoy nature, stay active, and develop physical skills in a safe and stimulating outdoor environment. We believe that access to the outdoors is a vital part of early childhood education, supporting not only physical health but also emotional well-being and social development.
At Riverside, we do not provide meals or snacks, and parents are kindly asked to send their child in with a healthy packed lunch and any snacks they may need during their session. We promote healthy eating and help children develop independence and positive habits around food and mealtimes.
We understand that starting pre-school can be a big transition, so we offer settling-in sessions tailored to each family’s needs. These sessions give children the opportunity to get used to their new environment gradually, helping them feel safe and secure from the very beginning.
